The other day I had a moment where I knew I had arrived as a mother to a girl. Kirsten was having a particularly hard day, we had to skip backyard adventures with kara because she was overally awnry and tired. She said to me "I want a different mom, a nice mom who's not mean" I knew then I was officially a mother to a dramatic, but beautiful and spirited little girl!

No worries Maren! My 4 year old has said such things like that to me before. (I take it as a sign of good parenting.) :) The other day he was so not happy with me that he said: "I don't like you. I want to leave." I then asked...where would you go, and then he names a friend of his...and I then have to explain to him why he can't go live with this friend. :) Fun times! :)
I am convinced that you are not a good mother unless your kids think you are mean!
